Page 30 [ FALL/WINTER 2017 ] The Source of Albert Veenstra Al passed away at University Hospital, to be with his Lord on November 14th, 2017. Albert Veenstra at the age of 85. Greatly loved and will be dearly missed by his wife Marie (nee Stacey) and grandson Michael Da Ponte. Predeceased by daughter Sharon on January 2, 2016. He will be fondly remembered by his brother Robert (Bob) Veenstra, sister Lutske vander Veen of The Netherlands, sister-in-law Vera Campbell, many nieces, nephews, friends and family. Donations to Westview Baptist Church or a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Al was a member of the groundwater industry for many years. He began his career in “water” working for Duro – Pumps & Softeners in London, Ontario. Over the years he was a salesman for Sta-Rite Industries when they were in Ajax and then General Steel Wares formally (Beatty) out of Fergus. Al joined the former Tillsonburg Pipe & Supply in the days of the Gilvesy family’s ownership. When the Canadian Pipe & Pump Supply, Tillsonburg location was opened Al moved as did Wiz and Larry Loucks to CanPipe and finished his work life retiring from there in 1997. Al and Marie have attended many OGWA Conventions and functions over the years and will be remembered by many. The OGWA sends its condolences and warmest regards to Marie, Al’s grandson Michael, and his extended family and friends.
